The sense of belonging can be one of the most powerful
motivators for a person, the charismatic leader of the
Lakewood Hill Gang, Milo Chavez, knew this and the number
of recruits swelled because of the sense of family fostered
by his leadership; originally set up to protect the
Lakewood Hill neighborhood from other gangs, but over time,

Ortiz was the ideal mark, newly immigrated to the United
States, not many friends, and of Central American origin,

of family that he would do anything to belong, as crimes
were committed he had become a trustworthy person to Milo
himself, but the closer he got, the more he realized that
someone else was pulling the strings.
