The ureilite meteor flies through the sky and eventually falls into the water and drops to the lake's bottom. Millions and millions of years go by, and the lake dries up. A man searches and loses his chance at killing a dear, flipping over a rock, rubbing off dust and dirt, exposing a stunning sparkling gem. The human keeps the treasure until invaders have ransacked his village. They burn it all; a soldier sees a glimmer out of the corner of his eye as he leaves. It's the gem, and he takes it and presents it as a gift to his girlfriend. She puts it on a golden chain and wears it around her neck. One day, she comes home to find her boyfriend in bed with another guy. She rips off the necklace and throws it at him; it bounces around and eventually lands in the hole of the wall. The boyfriend looks for the gem to no avail. Sometime later, a mouse discovers the rock and drags it back to the sewer and uses it to repair a leak. The gem remains in that position for decades until a construction crane knocks it loose, and it lands in the sewer. Taken away by the current, it travels to a water treatment plant where a worker saves it. He shows his boss, and both of them go to a pawn shop and sell it for cash. It's been in the pawnshop for about a year before a scientist is digging through artifacts and comes across a gem with peculiar geology. He buys it, and the gem remains in his study and eventually winds up in a laser. This gem had the ideal optical shape to be the most potent laser cutter ever. It made the scientist world famous. Upon the death of the scientist, the gem was confiscated by the government. It finally wound up on display in a museum until it was stolen in a heist and transported worldwide. Nothing will stop the gem; it's indestructible, it's arrival was not the beginning, and it's never going to see its end.
