Selling products from one city to another has become obsolete in our modern world of internet and one-day shipping, but Claudia Marshall's Anti-Aging Liniment is sold that very way. Supposedly, the elixir had come from a rare, partially venomous snake in Asia. It wasn't the first product to claim that it could reverse the aging process, but it was the first that worked instantaneously. Often it lasts just an hour, sometimes a whole day. People became obsessed with the product; when it was revealed that it would be selling in a particular city, thousands would flock for a brief glimpse of youth. Eventually, snake oil caught the eye of the researcher, Johnston Weber. After the product had been sold out, Claudia would disappear for long stretches of time. Johnston was determined to follow her and expose the truth. To his surprise, her travels did not take her to Asia, but to a small town in Georgia. There was something strange about the town, it's as if it had come out of nowhere, no highway access, no roads leading in or out. You have to hike through dense forests to get there. There were, however, people living there, a town of models, young studs, and not one person over the age of 25. When Johnston proceeds to investigate, he discovers that everyone in the town is a Satan worshiper. The liniment is rendered in a ritual in which one of the townspeople is sacrificed to the devil. Once the ritual is done, the people of the town must replace the sacrifice. Johnston begins to fall victim to the seductions of youth and a beautiful woman. But only Claudia herself, with her youthful look now returned, is able to seduce Johnston. Give your soul to the devil and live young, rich, and powerful for decades, what a tempting offer.
